A hell of a long time ago, I got fet up with table-top, old school RPGs. The rules were always either too confining or far too loose to really make the games flow correctly and have a certain feel of reality, even if you were playing in a ficticious or perhaps even magical realm. I think my final straw when I was between the games called Champions and Vampire the Masquerade. All of the games I’ve played, and believe me, I’ve gamed A LOT, had good elements to them so I sat down and decided to create my own system. I’ll admit…the majority of this has been up in my head for some time and since I was always the game master, that really didn’t seem to matter. Now I want to share.
In the following months, I’ll be posting rules, lists, diagrams, documents, example characters, and example game-play sessions for you, the gamer, to use freely. This isn’t to say that you can go and take my game system and try to publish it. That would be simply uncooth and I have plenty of documentation since the late 80s concerning this game system, that I could take you down and show you what a silly person you are with a lawsuit. So don’t abuse the gift…take it in and have fun with it!
The game system has the ability to meld into different gaming genres: superhero, fantasy, horror, sci-fi, etc., which makes it something I had to make fit each of this categories. This, in turn, will make it very easy for one to learn…once you’ve got the system down, you’re set!
I will open up several game groups that you would be able to join in time as well. Keep in mind, we are all adults here, so sorry young ones, the groups that I will be running will not be for the young, naive, or light-hearted. 18 and up, however, I would prefer someone at least in their mid-20s and up to game, as the sessions maturity level would be more correct. This is a very important thing when it comes to gaming. Different age groups enjoy different levels of gameplay. This is not to say that younger players cannot use this system. Play and have fun with your friends, which is what this game system has been about from the very beginning.
So check back soon for the postings on Lizard Games(c).
